Relationships are what I believe to be the most meaningful part of life. We encounter them at home, at work, at play, and even in relationship to ourself. There would be no such thing as friendship, partnership, team or family without this relational experience.
With that said, connection to self and others can be one of the most complicated and even problematic part of our lives. Sibling rivalry, peer conflict, spousal discord, divorce, separation, death, marriage, birth, are just a few of the ways in which relationships can be stressed.
I believe a central focus to therapy is about our relational experience in the world. If we can be successful in this experience, we can thrive in life and love.
If your relationship(s) is causing you stress, discord, tension or hardship, therapy is one place this meaningful connection can be mended with grace and mindful attention. Whether in individual, couples, or family therapy, we will focus on mindful communication, deeper understanding of self and other, problem solving new patterns and behaviors, and at times, acceptance and compromise.
