Optimal performance

Have you ever felt frazzled and exhausted or listless and without the energy to get through the day? Many of us struggle to pace or balance our emotional state—we are hyper vigilant, anxious, stressed or worried and approaching our daily life and relationships in a state of distress. This human function curve illustrates how chronic distress impacts our health and wellbeing and has us swinging between hyperaroused and hypoaroused states of being.  Maintaining our level of distress at a moderate level supports optimal social, emotional and physical health. We can’t always remain in perfect balance but the key is to notice when you are fatigued and to allow for regular self care so that your levels of stress do not send you on an emotional roller coaster ride.
